In 2014, the artist group I founded, Neo Futurist Collective, was invited to take part of a group exhibition at Seoul Museum of Art curated by John Reardon and Hyemin Son. The Growing Manual featured grassroots arts collectives from around the world, working at the intersection of art and activism. Each collective chose a text and a plant to exemplify its particular ideology. I chose Japanese Knotweed, an extremely dangerous and virulent plant that can grow through concrete. I submitted a found junk email text The Garden Manifesto as a manifesto of our aims and objectives.
The exhibition follows on from The Growing Manual limited-edition artist book published at the end of 2013.
