In 2015, I was commissioned by The Nimbus Group as an audio consultant and sound designer to work on their flagship project The Nimbus, an IOS (and now Android) app featuring the sounds of renowned field recordist Chris Watson. The sounds themselves were selected from Chris’s vast archive and presented as a colour-coded, high-quality, immersive sound experience for mobile devices.

I worked with the app designer to encode the original masters into high quality audio streams. This aspect was the key to the project. The sounds had to be small enough to stream successfully over a 4G network whilst retaining as much of the original detail and depth of field from the master recordings as possible.

I also contributed a number of my own sound pieces to add to the palette of sounds.
