I am delighted to announce that the collaborative sound and ceramics project I created with ceramist Kay Aplin – “Landscape : Islands” launches on April 30th with a preview of our first exhibition and sound performances at The Ceramic House in Brighton. We will also be unveiling our new micro-gallery that night “IN CAMERA”. It’s a cute space with a killer 4 channel sound system, courtesy of some Genelec 8010’s (plus a 32″ HD screen for film works). We will be presenting performances in the gallery in partnership with Aural Detritus Concert Series on 13th and 20th May and also later in the year in September. Big thanks to Paul Khimasia Morgan for his help to date…
The exhibition continues every Saturday and Sunday 11-5 pm 7-29th May.
The project then continues over the summer with international residencies of ceramic and sound artists collaborating together in response to the project theme. An exhibition of work created during the residencies will open at Phoenix Brighton at the beginning of September. Selected works will then tour to Kent and Medway in the autumn, in partnership with 51 Zero in Medway and Dan Thompson Studio in Margate.
