Interbeing : WFH_1.0 takeover

This week has seen the official launch of the project “Interbeing” which emerged out of a research trip to China and Hong Kong last year with my co-curator at The Ceramic House, Kay Aplin, organised originally in partnership with Zen Arts. Just before the lockdown started we heard that we had been successful in our funding bid to Arts Council England, at the same time as realising that a project built on international travel and cooperation was going to have to be reimagined for a post Covid-19 age.

This week, our partners in Hong Kong, Karin Weber Gallery, offered us the opportunity of taking over their WFH (Working From Home) Instagram account and we seized the moment to publicly announce the project and to begin a programme of work built upon collaborations between Chinese and UK artists working ceramics and sound.

Tomorrow, Sunday 5th July I will be premiering some of the sounds that I recorded on the research trip to Guangzhou and  Guangdong Province, using my custom built Sonic Baton. Tune in live on Instagram at 11am BST.
